Shree Shailendra Thakore is the Hon. Chairman of MKF Acting Institute. He is in the Film Industry Since 1973. Shailendra Thakore is a Film Director, Story-Screenplay-Dialogue Writer, Lyricist, Actor, Drama Artist, Radio & TV artist, Mime & Bhavai Artist, Musician, Painter, Puppeteer, Author and a Professor.
He is having Master Degree in Performing Arts from the famous M.S. University of Vadodara. He has also done Diploma in Music from M.S. University. He is also having a degree of B.A and L.L.B(spl.). He has worked in over 200 Films, TV Serials, Video Albums, Documentary, Short Films, Advertisements, etc. in his Film carrier of over 40 years.
He has worked with many Bollywood artists such as Madhuri Dixit, Alok Nath, Asif Shaikh, Arun Govil, Deepika chikhaliya, Resham Tipnis, Upasana Singh, Rakesh Bedi, Razak Khan, Shalini Kapoor, Kishore Bhanushali, Shraddha Varma, Bharat Kapoor, Bal Dhuri, Jatin Khan, Krishna, KK Raj, Vijay Arrora, Pramod Kapoor, Prem Chopra etc.
At the starting of his film carrier he has assisted Shantilal Soni, Bhupen Desai, Satpal Rawal, Govindbhai Patel, Girish Manukant and Subhash J Shah.
He has directed many Gujarati films as an Independent Director such as Haal Bheru America, Inspector Arjun, Mane Samne Sajan Sambhre, Shraddha ne Sathvare, Preet Kare Ae Jaane, Balihari Baliyadevni etc. He has also directed Documentary, TV Serials and Ad Films.
He has directed and worked with many Gujarati film Industry (Dhollywood) artist such as Mega star Naresh Kanodia, Super Star Hiten Kumar, Arvind Trivedi, Arun govil, Chandan Rathod , Hitu Kanodia, Mamta Soni, Nishant Pandya, Nilesh Mohite, Jayendra Mehta, Jaimini Trivedi, Arvind Kirad, Rajni Bala, Mulraj Rajada, Devendra Pandit, Harish Hingoo, Rani Sharma, Asha Panchal, Rajeshree, Mitresh Varma, Shalini Kapoor, Neela Patel, Ranjit Raj, etc.
During his Stage carrier he has played leading roles in full length plays, one act play, Bhavai, Mime, Street play & Skit.
He has worked with many Theater Artists Such as Chandravadan Mehta, Markand Bhatt, Yashvant Kelkar, Jagdish bhatt, Avantilal Chawala, Harivadan Parikh, Ramesh Bhatt, Mahesh Champaklal, Suresh Rajada, Vihang Mehta, Mahesh Parikh, Bhupesh Shah, Ambalal Patel etc.
He has worked in many dramas during his stage carrier such as Paritran, Madira, Dhara Gurjari, Hiro Havaldar, Pagala Godha, Allak Dallak Zanjar Zallak, Mazam Raat, Sasro Chade ke Jamai, Upalo Mal Khali, Vatesar ni Vat, Pranay ane Police chowki, Tin Bandar, Ho ho lika, Safai sathe sachchi Sagai and many more.
Shailendra Thakore is Ex-faculty of Dr. Ramanand Sagar’s founded Sagar Film & TV Academy (10 Yrs) and Padmini Kolhapuri’s Franchisee Rita Art Academy. He remained Acting faculty at a workshop organized by Juhi Chawla's family owned Arya Kanya Gurukul, Porbandar.
He is the author of three books related to Films. Two of his books Film Nirman and Bhavi Vesh are published by Government of Gujarat. He has also written radio dramas, Stage Play, Mime, Bhavai, TV Serials and Films. Out of which some are awarded also.
He is awarded for his art and services in the field of Drama by Banyan City Jaycee Baroda, TMB Cultural Association Baroda, Shrey Sadhak Mandal Baroda, Mayur Pankh Morbi, Jayshree Lok Natya, Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan and Allahabad Natya Sangh.
